Well, I finally got this motor done. Replaced the fuel pump and that fixed the lousy running/lean sneeze. Now she runs like a dream. Now that I got her running, I tested the Selectric Shift. It shifts fine! Got her all painted and she's ready to go. Another old classic rescued from the trash!

Super nice job! Was/is it difficult to get a replacement genny belt? My '57 Lark has a belt & I was thinking it may be difficult to find!?

SLOW...but that's OK! The motor is completely disassembled & I've got most of the parts I need, however. I spent last weekend drilling out the 5/8 inch transom screws. The pad halves were completely gone due to corrosion...just nubs that would not screw out. I managed to get them out nicely! I'm looking for some vintage replacements thumb screws that won't break the bank. Free would be nice!

The weekend before that, I spent my time freeing up the swivel bracket...she swings as free as a dream now! Currently, I'm looking for a blaster soda or otherwise to strip her down...or find a "new best friend!" The latter is hard to come by however.

All in all, steady as she goes!

Look at the nubs of my thumb screws...toast! I believe these thumb screws and the prop acted as sacrificial metals and saved the rest of the motor from being eaten away while sitting in a 55 gal drum with water! Lots of rust coated the leg...but it all wiped off.
