Hello guys, new to the forum here. I just got a good deal on a this boat, but i does have a couple issues:

- In order to start the motor, I must put it in neutral and give a little gas. Once this is done, it starts up fine.

- Once the boat is moving and i take off, there are no issues at all, the engine runs great.

-When i get back down to idle, it will run sluggish and then die. If i let it die, many times i have to wait awhile (5-10 min) before i can restart it. If i kill the engine instead of letting it die, i can always start it right back up, but i have to put it back in neutral and give it gas again. In order to start, i always have to put in neutral and give gas, no matter the situation.

I'm planning on doing a tune up here in the next few days, but i know thats not going to fix this problem.

I know its something in the carb, just now sure what exactly. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Thats exactly what i figured. Thanks. How much would a carb rebuild kit cost? I am mechanically inclined, and can rebuild it myself.
