I have a vehicle that has yellow lights in back for the turn signals. When all hooked up I don't have any brake lights on the trailer. I get all lights except brake lights. Am I hooking something up wrong on the vehicle side? I have the right and left wires wired in to the yellow turn lights because if i wire them to the red lights for brake lights I get no turn signals.

Agree with Gary 100% you need a converter. Beyond that a bad ground is the most common problem.

I put these in all the time at work. You definately need a converter when you have yellow turn signals.

Re: Trailer lighting problems!

I just posted this on my own trailer light question. I had the same problem. I have a 4 pin setup and I had no brake lights or directionals. The lights came on hen I had the vehicle lights on. It turned out that the lights I was seeing were the smaller of 2 bulbs. The larger bulb that works as the brake light and directional was out on both sides. It was a whopping $4 fix.
