From previuos replies my watertube came undone from the grommet in the exhaust housing. I started to take it apart to get the powerhead out, ie; I removed card, fly, disconnected all lines etc. and was wondering before I keep going can I do this from the bottom or does the power head have to come out?
Does it just pull up freely?
why do i have to take all this stuff out, to get to bolts otherwise I couldn't? sorry if these are stupid questions just curious.

Heh heh, you haven't even started yet. The powerhead has to come off because the water tube is held in there by a washer, o-ring, and push nut. You can't get the powerhead off till you split the clamshell casing that surrounds the motor. It is a major job, especially for a novice without a factory service manual.

You just found the major downside to the 9.5 hp. low profile engines.
A manual would be most helpful at this point. It would of showed you how to take off the magneto plate also. Don't mess up the motor mounts!

You don't need to do anything with the magneto or flywheel to fix the problem with the water tube.

ezeke ya must of been on the water, i could of used your advice.lol I took to much apart that I didn't have to. Got everything apart, and stated above undo the clam shell I think is all that was needed, live and learn.
I seperated the exhaust housing from the powerhead and put the new rubber o ring and washer, and put back in. sprayed water under pressure and it came out the thermostat housing and the pee hole so once I get it all put back toghether I believe I'll be good to go!
Here's hoping I remember how.:D
Just wanted to thank each and every person who took the time to reply, every post steered me in the right direction. See ya'll on the water:cool:
