Was having problems getting spark on my motor so I replaced ignition coil assembly and motor fired right up. Came back a day later and tried to crank and it did not have spark. I pulled the spark plug inspected it and reinstalled it. The motor fired right up. Tried again another day and motor would not fire so I pulled the plug and wire reinstalled and the motor fired up. What could be going on? Do I need to replace the spark plug wires? I already replaced the plugs and ignition coil. The model number is J15REDG.

Sounds like the coil assembly , wires or plugs have nothing to do with the problem. Sounds more like a wiring harness issue to me or maybe a stop circuit issue, have you tried taking the kill circuit out of the equation?

How do you take the kill circuit out of the equation?

Follow the wires from the kill switch , there should be 1 wire to ground held down to metal somewhere under the hood.

Do I just follow where this wire goes and disconnect it then try to crank the motor?

Yes, it's the kill wire, one side goes to ground and the other goes to the ignition module, just disconnect the ground terminal, it will remove the stop circuit all together.

disconnect the whole switch,it could be grounding in the switch to the cowling.Do you have any other kill buttons like the safety lanyard, totally disconnect the kill buttons ,different engines have different set ups. Also check all grounds to your coil pack
