Re: Will pain killers help out a sinus infection?

I have equipment (I invented it) to make high quality colloidal silver. In small amounts, like a couple of tablespoons of of 10 ppm a day for a few days, it is quite effective and safe. It's also a pretty effective topical disinfectant.

The smurfs usually drank a quart or more of 20 ppm per day for long periods of time.

The term blueblood, a term for royalty, came from the fact that many developed argyria from eating acid foods with silver plates and utensils. Only the uber rich would suffer from it.

Argyria is harmless, but not pretty.

Pseudoephedrine works great, but if it's allergies then you need something you can take longer term.

I used to suffer from sinus infections all the time. If you already have an infection it won't go away without antibiodics, and could progress into bronchitis.
I discovered that it's easy to prevent sinusitis by simply paying attention to your sinuses and keeping them from becoming blocked. Air MUST move thru the sinus cavities! '4 WAY Nasal Spray' works for me in moderation- no more than two or three shots a week.

I use Breathe-Right Strips when sleeping- they hold the nostrils open for more air. If I feel one side becoming blocked, I turn so that side is UP. It will natually drain withn a few minutes.

Here's something I found online. I've highlighted the last part.

Preventing sinusitis

You can help prevent sinus attacks by avoiding colds and allergy symptoms, so it's a good idea to remove as many pollutants, irritants, and allergens from your environment as possible. Controlling allergies, and fighting colds with healthy habits, are important steps to take. But of course, not all colds and allergy attacks can be prevented. During an allergy attack or cold, you should use a short-term oral or nasal decongestant. Blow your nose gently to keep from damaging sinuses and keep nasal passages clear. Drink lots of fluids, which will help strength your body's immune defenses as well as keeping nasal discharge thin. Rinse nasal passages with a saline solution to reduce swelling and improve drainage. The important thing in preventing sinusitis is to keep nasal passages clear, as mucus build-up is what generally creates the conditions for a sinus infection.

Ya know before I quit smoking I would get a kick my butt sinus infection trip to Dr. get a steroid shot, antibiotic shot script etc about 5 times a year. I quit smoking almost a year ago and I have only had 2 and they were in the first 6 months. I really haven't been as sickly sense I quit.

Vicodin doesn't come in 10mg - 5mg only. Vicodin HP contains 10mg hydrocodone but it also contains 660mg acetaminophen. Snort that!!:D

Max out your dose of mucinex or mucinex d for about 4 days after you start to feel better. Afrin is cocaine to bad sinuses. It is awesome stuff but you can easily use it too often if you are like me.

The goal really isn't to dry everything out. It's to make your snot the proper viscosity.
