oil injection issue on DT115

Hey guys, I have an 89 suzuki DT115 that I just bought and am trying to get going. I have it operating properly for the most part and have gone through all of the usual checks and cleanings but have a small issue that I'd like some advice on. I recently took it to the lake and everything works well except for (I think) the limiting of throttle due to the oil injection sensors. The person that I bought this from had removed the oil tank and disconnected the oiling controls (mechanically). I am pre-mixing but need to know the proper procedure for completing the electrical disconnection to fool the motor. My idle will increase rpms but the throttle rpms are limited. Please let me know if you think that this is my issue and how to remedy. Thanks in advance.

If you can find all the parts put the injector back on.

I wish I could. I checked on the parts that I know I don't have and it seems that I'm quickly going to run up a parts bill. Also, I don't know what else may be wrong with the existing components. Is it not possible to bypass?

there are many posts about oil injection, suzuki uses an internal pump. to disconnect you have to go into the motor. If you don't do it right you will damage motor, if there is a right way. the system works great as long as oil is always clean, and its not that hard to service screen either. good luck

Thanks for your post. I've read several threads similar but figured the direct approach best in the end. One more question: since this motor had been disconnected and the oil line plugged before I bought it, there is a pretty good chance that it was run as is for at least a time. Would that have damaged the internal oil pump?

The pump is driven from a gear on the crank shaft, it can and will cause problems without lubrication to both gears. I think the gear on the crank maybe made onto the crank and is not replaceable, but I am not positive about that
