1986 Bayliner Capri Cobra 1800

Hello iboats!

Lately I've been having trouble finding parts for my 1986 Bayliner Capri Cobra 1800. I keep coming across the Bayliner Capri, but no Cobra. Does anyone have an idea or link to a marine salvage yard? I've been to a few in Michigan and all they have are Capri's, no Cobra. I've checked e-bay and nothing.

Attached is a picture of someone else's 1986 Bayliner Capri Cobra 1880 and mine is similar.

There isn't much in the way of model-specific parts for ANY boat. They aren't like cars. But boats have the advantage of having been made with mostly generic parts so finding replacements is usually possible. Things like windshields and trim pieces can be tough. What are you looking for?

I'm looking for the padded rails that go in the bow. Something that I can either re-upholster or use as a template. I've seen some pictures of other boats and the padded rail cushions kind of tapper off. Also looking for the plastic "ice chest" that goes under the passenger seat.

I re-did the wood for my bow rails. I found some ply, cut it, painted it, then foamed and covered it. I got lucky though and the previous owner at least gave me the old rotted wood to use as a pattern. You could probably make some very easily. If i get a chance and i remember, ill take a few quick measurements for ya this weekend.

I own a 1986 Capri just like yours. they made her three years. First year was 1986 and she was called 1800 Capri, in 1987 and 1988 they called her a 1800 Cobra. It will be very hard to find any parts for her, what is it you are looking for? I have redone my boat, removed the windshield and replaced it with a wind deflector. Seating was changed to make her more like a tourniment ski boat. I have a 2005 150 Evinrude on her for power.
