Re: Puget Sound 16 S/S

Interior gutted only the gnnels have to have the material on them cleared then ready ,when I get to it, to clean sand and paint. The transom is good no soft spots or indication of rot. .Interior all washed out and ready for new floor I will Glove it before I lay floor but can get all the pieces cut fitted . The sides inside need all redone. Butterfield will help me post my many photos mabey tonight. Hope so dont want you thimking I did not do this. Total removal and wash about 8 hours. All alone it takes longer. I think I can have most things all made up even prior to doing the floor. I did not think that the high density Foam could hold water , was I wrong. Some in the floor was very wet. I wonder if thats why my 22 Holiday does not rise in the bow when I throtel up. It goes very fast but mabey faster??? When I get the floor done on the S/S iImay remove a test area on the big boat and have a look Summer has started here on the N/W Coast

Sounds like you are really tearing into the old SS. I'd be skeptical regarding the transom. If it's original it's time to get some new plywood epoxied up and installed.

I hope we get something figured out soon because otherwise...

Outstanding post -- Very cute.-- I cannot seem to upload to photobucket. May have to have it done. I have all my photos on a Sony Mivica digital there on the screen but they wont load. The Transom Really looks good the water damage to the sides and the floor seems to have been caused by no cover for 8-9 years The floor was draining ok untill the mice chewed up the insulation and built nests. Every one needs a home iIGuess. I will be posting as soon as I can . You all wont be disapointed it looks just like a totaly empty hull. Man theres a lot of rivets in them things I will bolt the cubicals back in with stainless and rivet the floor things.

I have tried every thin I have used for several years and the photos just sit in the my computer screen and wont go anywhere when I go to pictures i get a screen that has my other photos. I can attach them but nothing from my 31/2 disc i hit attach and up comes the my photo screen and no ones I wish to forward.

Try copying them from your 3 1/2 disk to your computer. See if you can attach them after doing that.

Heron--------- You may be right about the Transom I already have a big empty bathtub might as well take the faucet off . I have to remove the motor any way as the steering cable will not break loose. I cut it off of both ends and removed the Steering wheel and the rack and pinion Will replace all new rotary steering. The cable on the boat was 3 fet to long so cutting it was no big deal Hay its only money and I have no other hobies. May have to sell another Yorkie. puppy. That will pay for the whole restro. LOL IM STILL WORKING ON THE PHOTO THING. I may have to mail the discs to a friend and have them post for me.

Re: Puget Sound 16 S/S

Cleaned the rest of the deck today removed all things. Antena ,rail, awning snaps and rope docking things. I Removed the motor. Bad news for me I will have to turn the boat over and redo the bottom. What a mess. some people just are not to smart. . It will give me a chance to do some work on the trailer. Rollers, clean, and probably spray paint. It is margiinal but came 400 miles so will do something with it.This is going to be an all summer project. But I have a boat to use. Took all the seats apart and saved the hardware and any stainless bolts, nuts, and screws, there to costly to throw out. I may drop the discs in a envelope and mail to who might want to post them. There on 3 1/2 in. floppy's Ill take more and include all in one mailing , with postage for return to me.

How do you get your family over the comment of Gee you paid 800 dollars drove 800 miles for a new boat then tore it all to hell. Then they laugh with a sinister look. Just wait till it goes back together comment seems to be another snicker. LOL Thank you all for your help have the photo on the right track. will post a bunch when its all set up. Actually it will be cheap intertainment for me this summer. Take that d---long to get the ugly paint off.

Re: Puget Sound 16 S/S

Puget I can relate on the "tearing up and good boat" stuff, people thought I was nuts to dismantle my SS last fall. They do go back together pretty easily and well worth restoring.

Looks like its going to clean up nicely, seems to have all the important pieces intact. Nice project for ya when the salmon aren't hitting:)
