Hi all, long time no post but I'm trying to help a co-worker with something that has me baffled. He bought a replacement motor for his low-profile ski boat (70's style fiberglass, fairly flat hull). It has a Mercury 150 that's likely the original motor, has the metal blue-banded cowl cover). He's going to be selling that old motor but we're wondering if the prop might have more value as a separate item. It's construction is interesting as it doesn't have the typical through the prop exhaust hub. Rather, the gasses have to pass over the solid hub at the base of the blades. In addition, it's a very large pitch diameter; so large that the little adjustable rudder/anode has to be cut away a bit. It's also a stainless construction. It's not stamped with anything at the hub that I can tell but it appears to have a very low prop pitch as well.
Can anyone tell me anything about this prop as to the reasons it's build this way, who might want it, and what it might be worth?
Thanks,
Biederboat
