If I skip the csm.will the epoxy still bond as strong? Which epoxy would be best, thich or thin, Im thinking thick for the bonding and thin for the coating.
Do you have any pics of what you're trying to do? It might help clear up some confusion.
How about bonding fasteners to the deck that the console would be bolted to? If done correctly it would be very strong and the console would still be removable.
Why not cover some hardwood blocks before gluing them in place? Leave some opeings toward aft so that water will drain and bond a perimeter to the deck and screw the to it from the side. Remove the screws, and the CC comes out. Use large enough blocks so that they have plenty of bond surface. Clean the deck good before gluing them down, and I bet it wont go anywhere. In fact if you make the inner demension of the perimeter the right size you can mount your battery inside the CC as well. Just a thought. Just remember to seal the screws with something.
