Ethanol blues....

1988 Force 85...

Nowhere around here (Albuquerque) can I buy straight gas. Everything is watered down with ethanol. From reading this forum, it appears that engines after 1990 or so were built with newer compounds and are resistant.

So my question.. is there an additive that makes ethanol fuel "safe" for my fuel system, or should I just upgrade the fuel lines and be done with it?

Filters before and after the fuel pump,or fuel line isn't that costly.

Install a water seperator filter and keep on truckin, er boatin.

Ethanol doesn't hurt all lines. But if your not sure then replace them ALLL!!!!
I worked on an older Merc 7.5 and only one of the hoses went bad. It was so bad it clogged up the pump and the carb.J
