tiller(stick) steering

Hey guys. I'm filling out a capacity plate application and it asks what type of steering do i have. I just have an outboard and a trolling motor. The two choices are tiller(stick) or remote(wheel). Is the tiller(stick) steering refering to the bar i use on the motor. I know this question seems dumb

You are correct. That handle is called the tiller.

Actually it's not a dumb question at all because it is a tad confusing. Console steering would imply a wheel, tiller steering is what you have, and then there's stick steering. Here's a thread showing a stick steer set-up http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=382293
