Re: GPI Gaycraft boat question
My first boat was a little 12ft Gaycraft.

Caught a lot of fish out of her before moving up to bigger & better.
To answer your question, there isn't much info out there on the Gaycraft's. Your best bet is to use the same formula that the Coast Guard uses.
Here is a link to the DOT regs covering boat capacities.

Basically, you multiply the length in feet by the transom width in feet. Then look up the factor in the attached chart.
If the factor is over 52.5 and the boat has remote steering and at least 20" transom height then you multiply it by 2 and subtract 90 to get the rated HP.
(length x transom width)=factor
If less than 52.5 see attached chart.
If over 52.5 and the boat has remote steering and at least 20" transom height:
(factor x 2)-90=HP rating.
If over 52.5 and the boat does not have remote steering or at least 20" transom height:
For flat bottom/hard chine: (.5 x factor)-15=HP rating
For other style boats: (.8 x factor)-25=HP rating
For your boat I'll take a SWAG at it.
Assuming remote steering & a 20" transom.
15ft Length x 4.5ft beam=67.5 factor
(67.5 x 2)-90= 45hp
Without remote steering.
(67.5 x .8)-25= 29hp rounded to nearest 5= 30hp
