Hi All, I need some advise on my exhaust. I have a Baja 192 Islander with the 305 mercruiser. I bought 36" of the special rubber hose, (4" in diameter) with 4" tips and the block plate. I am going to eliminate the exhaust through the prop and go directly out the back under the swim platform. My mechanic does not think it will work because of the way the manifold sits it may cause the 4" hose to bend. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I did this on my boat when I got it. You should be able to tell where the hose will need to go, if not stick one on the manifold and see where it will need to go through the hull. You could always get an "elbow" if you need a different bend.

Waste of money and time IMO, especially with that little 305.

Ayuh,... Normally, you'd come off the risers to a rubber coupler, to a SSteel pipe, to a rubber coupler to the exhaust tips...

You're gonna make that same trip with only 18" of rubber hose,..??
For 1 thing, that sounds Short,... Another is it may well Sag, like your Mechanic said...
You may also have clearance issues with the rigging,+ wiring in the boat...

And,... Just a Tip,... That 305 Ain't gonna sound like those BBCs blowin' by you on the pond....
