Does anyone here have a forum account at baylinerownersclub.org? Few weeks ago I registered an account there as I had some questions about soon to be ours Bayliner boat, however their moderator must approve new members in order to post or view attachments. I have e-mailed the moderator there several times as required in their FAQ over the last two weeks, however cannot get any response or have my account activated.

It's a popular forum for Bayliner owners and appears to be very informative. I just wish they could "approve" us. If anyone has an account there, please PM the moderator and ask them whats happening.

I'm a member there. I will email the admin, wasn't aware of the new rule.

Is there a question you were looking for help with? Maybe I can answer it while you wait for an account approval.

Also check your emails spam folder. It could be filtering the approval email as spam.

AOL is terrible about that, GC.

We Moderators are Emailed by iboats anytime a post is reported or we get a PM. My AOL won't even put them in the SPAM folder.

We had to use a relay site. . .iboats Emails us at the relay site, which then forwards the Email to our home Email.

Could be you are getting the same thing. . .BOC is emailing you but they just disappear into space.

Re: baylinerownersclub not approving new members

Thanks guys for your help. I did receive automated e-mail from them shortly after registering, so my account is active. Its just I can't post new threads, reply, or view attachments until their mod approves my account. I followed instructions here http://baylinerownersclub.org/forum/showthread.php?t=26201 however have not heard from anyone in weeks.

Why don't you just ask your quesions on this forum, I'm quite sure you will get just as many answers here as you will there, if you ever get there.

Re: baylinerownersclub not approving new members

The admiral and I are closing on 2005 Bayliner 242 Classic, I had some questions about best way to mount VHF antenna. Don't get me wrong, iboats forum is great for sheer diversity and knowledge on all boating issues. The BOC is focused on Bayliners only which is great for specific mods and knowledge pertaining to narrow focus boating group.

Secondly, I don't know why but it seems like many people are Bayliner bashers without any first hand facts. Personally I like to ask a question and not have every third response telling me deal with it cause it's a bayliner. But that's a different issue entirely.

Let's just stop right there guys. Not going to have any bashing of other forums or their member or moderators on this site.
He asked a question and it was answered, and has been invited to post his questions here, let's just keep it at that.

You need to mount the antenna 3' away from the radio. Make sure you get a stainless steel swivel mount and through bolt the swivel to the boat. If you use just self taping screws it will be not hold.

Hope that helps you.

Well......I feel the need to intervene here..... I do not people to get the wrong impression!

Congratulations on your soon to be new boat.

I will address your concerns....... questions about the best way to mount the VHF antenna? I felt obligated as a moderator to search and see if the question was answered here but, it was never asked! I searched for it.

People here like the newer Bayliners and iboats has a great business relationship with Bayliner. We have sent iboats members to Bayliner (at the request/invite of Bayliner) to review their boats. Have you read the reviews here?

Every third response is bad based on the early construction under Bayliner's "old" methods and designs. They produced allot of entry level boats that are at the age they are showing problems.

I will place the knowledge and integrity available at iboats at the very top of the list.
