I need to remove the driveshaft out of the gearcase on a 1970's 9.8 hp Mercury "110"
I removed the impeller housing, and can see the drivesaft bearing. I dont see any screws/bolts that could be removed. Is there a trick to taking the thing out?

Thanks!

No tricks... just more work..

You need to :
  • Remove bearing carrier nut
  • Remove bearing carrier
  • Pull out propeller shaft ( with reverse gear )
  • Loosen the pinion nut ( on the end of the driveshaft, INSIDE LU )
  • Remove pinion gear
  • Pull out driveshaft.
