First off I have to say that my 2004 Suburban is an excellent automobile. I just returned from a trip to Red lodge Mt to go skiing and we hauled 7 people and all the skiing gear and luggage comfortably and still got just shy of 17mpg doing 80mph across ND and Montana.

Over the 6 years I have owned it, it has been extremely reliable and trouble free. Probably the best car I have owned.

Over that trip, it became obvious that after 108K miles, it needs new shocks. It is a 1500 LT 4x4. The original shocks in my view were a little softer than I would like as it had absolutely no off road capability. Not even driving across a field without it undulating.

So I am looking for recommedations on shock replacement. What others have done and what kind of ride was the result.

On previous 4x4 full size I have used Rancho shocks which worked fine...... glance at an off road site and there are many available from mild to wild....... hang on to your wallet!

Ayuh,... If you just want a resonably priced, Heavy-Duty shock,...
Sear's heavy-duty shocks are reasonably priced,+ give reasonable service...
Just no fancy name, or paint job...
