Any Doctors???

I currently do not have any health insurance, but i have had a headach from sat afternoon till now( thurs morning). it hasnt been a pounding head ach but just constant all over the head not just front. i dont have the money to go to the doctor and i am starting to get alittle worried.

No injury? no history of anything that could be related? Check into an ER. If you don't have insurance, they can set up payment plan for you or request the help of a hospital's social worker. They can help you obtain medicaid/care or state funded healthcare coverage, etc... Good luck

I'd pay to put money into my health, before I out fuel in that Proline of yours. Are you REALLY asking for health advice on a boating board?

Agree with above post , an ER can not refuse to treat you .Get it checked out now and work payment out later ! Only one you !

If you've had a headache thats been causing you discomfort for five days, it really is time to get it checked out. But I would only go to the ER as a last resort (or unless you feel it becomes life threatening). If you have a doctor, call him or her and see if they can see you soon. If no doctor, how about an urgent care or some type of walk-in care facility? Going to an ER will get you a bill for AT LEAST $1000.00 dollars I would imagine. There are cheaper alternatives. I would also try to get a free BP check like TD said.

Go to the doctor. It may only be allergies or a sinus infection, but it could also be serious.

Didn't say ER is always at least $1000. ER visit plus any diagnostic tests (CAT scan..MRI..etc) could easily end up being over $1000. Just saying there are definitely cheaper alternatives. I went to ER for a bad nosebleed while on blood thinner med and got a bill for $2400.

...wow, $2400?....you've got to be kiddin'? Even a $1000 for a check up...thats a chunk o' dough for a bit of info!!
I thought there was some sort of health plan or something or other thingy passed last week in the states? Would that cover this or?
Regardless, get in and get it looked at and find out what is going on in your noggin. Did you hit your head recently?...might be concussion related and that brain bruisin' stuff is no fun.

when i got home today i did some searching and everything points to a severe tension headache. i am normally a very healthy person, have not gone to a doctor in 7 years, just dont believe in them. i am getting insurance soon when my baby boy is born, just havent needed it. but thanks for the concern and i will get it checked out if it continues.

Out of curiousity, what would it cost for a family (your family?) to have medical care or insurance or a medical plan? It is expensive or more like a car payment or?

Yep, like a nice car payment. Without the help of an employer benefit plan it's cost prohibitive for a LOT of peoples.

To the OP - if you want to try to see someone at a lower cost, call around to the clinics - many nurse practitioners run clinics at a fraction of the normal cost and are quite familiar with people who don't have a big health plan.

Cost of health insurance in the US varies by state and plan. When my wife had lung cancer and had to quit her job, the plan cost us $550 a month with a $5000 a year deductable. So yes - about the cost of leasing a luxuary car. Except that you make the $5k down payment every year plus 20% of the rest of the bill.

If I were to pay full price for my company provided insurance, it would be $1100-$1200 per month for family coverage.
