Need help with my Prop.

I bought a new prop for my 96 50hp force motor it came with the vortex hub kit. I installed the hub kit and the prop just as the instructions tell me to but instead of the prop going inside the lower unit it leaves about a quarter of inch gap between the prop and lower unit. It looks like there is already some type of thrust washer on their and i cant take it off because the shaft sits on top it. Long story short without the thrust washer from the kit the prop goes on just fine with the washer i get the gap. My old pro just slide on and a bolt and its ready to go. Do i have the wrong prop? I bought the new prop from this site (FAST shipping BTW) and this is the one they told me to get....I could use a little help...

It looks like there is already some type of thrust washer on their and i cant take it off because the shaft sits on top it.

Ayuh,... It sounds like you're trying to use 2 thrust washers..

Ayuh,... So knock the old thrust hub Off there....

I feel so stupid right now!! lol i messed around with that old washer for almost an hour last night and it just would not come off so i thought maybe its not supposed too....! Went back out and with a few more taps of the hammer the old washer slide right off...Thanks for the help Bond-o!
