Thanks for playing everybody it was fun!
This is a 1962 17' Lyn-Craft Seabreeze "rambler". It has ALWAYS been garage-kept and is truly in excellent shape. The trailer is the original 1962 Murray tilt and the motor is the original 1962 Kiekhaefer Merc450. This is a real classic. A matched set, boat-motor-trailer-all 1962!
The boat was made in Sarasota by John Baerveldt (I think-not confirmed yet) and the trailer in Tampa by Ray Murray. My high-school sweetheart?s dad worked for Ray Murray in Lakeland where we grew up-I?ve stayed at his home in the Bahamas. It was a one-owner (I am 2nd), not registered since 1988.
The boat is solid-I cannot find any soft spots or rot. It has a few minor cosmetics as one would expect but nothing major-very minor oxidation which should look like new after compound, polish, wax. Rub-rail is in excellent shape, windshield is clear. Transom is perfect, vinyl upholstery is flawless. I really cannot find anything wrong with the boat-can you?
