I bought this boat on a bout of cabin fever in late feb.... was surfing craigslist and found a boat motor and trailer for 250$ and thought well thats pretty cheap why not..... didnt know what i was getting into.... i no longer think boats are simple. 4+ gallons of fiberglass and alot of money later i have a boat i think i can be proud of I stripped it down to the stringers and replaced and reinforced almost everything.

One piece of advice....make sure you seal up your through hull holes and any other holes you drill into it with 3m5200 sealant...that OSB is going to soak up water like crazy if it gets the chance.

Did you paint the wood with just the fiberglass resin?

Is that OSB3 ?

How much CSM did you use?

i went to a tech school for construction and we used the advantec for the flooring because of its water resistance i know it would soak up some water but i did resin coat every board front back and sides before i installed them and then did it again i hope it doesnt ever get water to the boards weather advantec or marine ply after all the resin i put on them

and i had planned to put the sealer in the holes i almost forgot thanks for reminding me ha and the ply is huber advantec flooring ply designed for use in rough in construction of homes and is probably in most of your homes ;) the boards like i said were coated in resin before installation and the joints were put in with matting and resin several layers just like i took it out

i think your expecting an awful lot out of only resin coating everything.... good luck

Re: Restore Project Pics

well its been awhile since ive been on here but im now back in college and that causes me to take a week break in between my projects. i got the boat out on the lake a few times this year.... hauled it down to truman lake once and ran it out of gas which thinking i had filled the tank but grabbed the wrong one in a hurry out..... luckly i ran out of gas as i was coasting up to the dock. probably couldn't do that again if i tried. so far no major issues with it i ran fuel stabilizer through it for the winter..... that is a good thing to do with these engines correct?
