Speaker help

We have a Sea Ray 310 Sundancer that we are looking to upgrade the sound system on. We will be adding 2 amps, a sub and a pair of tower speakers or similar to the arch. Can anyone recommend which speakers provide top notch sound for this installation? Someone has recommended Poly Planar because of the low magnetic field these speakers offer. I don't know anything about the Poly Planar brand and how much of a difference there is in the magnetic field between these and other speakers.

Do you have a separate house battery to power this system??? If not, you should be asking how to install one as you will be needing it.

I'll answer your question. If you want top of the line tunes on board look for a company called JL Audio. They are the defacto standard for high end audio off shore

Polyplaner is a 4 of 10. Above Boss Audio and below Sony.

JL audio for the speakers as for the sub, I bought a Bazoooka and it is awesome, see my pic

If you are looking for top quality sound, then I would go with ALPINE marine system. I have a very nice setup of the following:

head unit: CDA-105 (not marine version) you can get marine CDA-9886m
2 sets of speakers: SPR-M700
1 woofer: SWR-M100
1 amp: PDX-5m (5 channel so you can hook up speakers and the woofer to 1 amp)

Very nice sound. Designed not to drain the battery as much. Marine quality and sound. I highly recommend it.

Thanks for the heads up on the power drain. We're looking into the battery situation now.
Thanks for all the speaker suggestions. We're looking for enclosed speakers that we can point towards the back of the boat. Unfortunately, Alpine only makes flush mount speakers and the JL Audio enclosed speakers are $1200. I don't mind spending money on good speakers, but that's over the top.
We're looking at Bazooka Tubbies and Polk Audio outdoor speakers, although I'm not sure how the Polks would handle a salt water enviroment.

I'museing a pair of 300.00 klipsch outdoor speakers in my boat they sound preety dam good with just 20 amps, they sound better connected to my onkyo from the house but that has 10 times the power. i move them back and forth, I can only be in one place at a time
