I just bought my first boat last weekend and i'm pretty stoked to work on it and get it in the water. It's a 1990 17' Glastrom Siera with 120hp Johnson. As of right now the steering cable needs to be replaced, a few of the seat coushins need to be sewn back together, needs to be cleaned, motor needs a tune-up, and after this season i will be pulling up the carpet and fixing the soft spots. I'm looking around for some new tires for the trailor.

I'm not sure how to get the steering cable out. I unscrewed it from the motor and the helm but am having a hard time getting it all the way out. Any advice?

This is my 2nd money pit, the first one is my towing rig, 2006 Jeep Unlimited Rubicon. Any Jeep guys on here?

Looking forward to getting it in water.

Jeep....what's that....never heard of it. Using a Jeep as a tow vehicle brings up all kinds of responses, most of which you don't want to hear. Many will say, don't tow with it, others will say the opposite. Use the SEARCH at the top and read what has been said before you want to make it an issue As far as your steering goes, assuming it is a Teleflex, there's a clip you push in to release it and then turn the steering wheel to wind it out.
