1989 Invader engine compartment cover

I want (need) to replace my engine compartment cover to include the wood framework. Any suggestions? Can I buy one somewhere? How is the wood treated? I'm thinking I could use the current cover as a pattern and make it myself but I'm not sure how the wood is treated.

Looking at my cover (89 V177 Elan), there doesn't seem to be any treatment of the wood. Looks like a simple pine frame and some plywood.

i have a 1975 invader and mine didnt have any treatment to the wood either but i think that is why it went bad maybe use a couple of coats of paint to protect it from water i have to redo my interior so let me know what u decide and how it works out for you
