Help please identifying old sea horse

I recently got a old johnson sea horse. I know nothing about it and was wondering what hp/year it was? Also if i can still find parts and a manual for it? The serial # is 560700....Model 7020. Thanks for all responses!!!

Model number usually had letters on an "old seahorse"

As far as I can see, 7020 is all thats there

7020 is stamped on the plate on the transom clamp?

Yes, along with the serial # 560700

I looked again today, i was wrong on the model # it is td20....not 7020. Sorry, probably 1 to many beers last night :D

Any idea's where i can get the following parts? coil, condensor, gas cap and the springs that go on the dogs on top of the flywheel? Thanks guys for all the info :)

That coil may still be good. It's the newer "Universal" coils that all go bad after 30 years or so

He'll have to pull the flywheel, the early TD-20 coils were the horseshoe style coil which isn't the standard.

I cleaned the carb, reset the points to .020 and cleaned them up and still have no spark on the bottom cyinder, so i figured the condensor/coil was bad

They could be bad; it's just not an automatic thing like on the later 1950's through 1960's coils. Those just go bad from sitting there and cracking.

Swap the coils around, that will rule out a bad coil.

I fixed the no spark issue, had a bad coil(found one on ebay cheap:)...All i need now a set of new springs that sit ontop of the dawgs of the flywheel...I've looked everywhere with no luck....Any idea where i might find these??? Thanks a bunch for all replies....you guys rule!

Post a want ad in the webvertize portion of AOMCI.ORG, i've had great luck finding parts.
