My buddy has an unknown upper alpha one gen one in his shop and it has been painted so there is no telling what ratio... Can I count the gear teeth on top to find out. Or is there another way? What teeth count would = what ?

Re: Alpha drive ratio mystery

you could pull it..and turning the shaft by hand get a good guess as to the ratio by how many turns it takes to give the prop a full revulotion.
If it took almost 2..it would probably be 1:98

dang..just re read and realized its just the upper huh?
