Have a new bravo water pump with a new pulley to fit on it. Want to avoid buying an expensive install tool.
Would it be ok to place pulley onto shaft wind in a bolt through the shaft, with a nut and some washers, until it seats then turn the nut to push the pulley onto the shaft. Simple ;)
Anyone with any experience of doing this and succeeding? Or any other ideas would be great.

Thanks

You can easily rent (borrow) the tool from Autozone. They "sell' it to you and then when you;re done with it, they "buy" it back.

Not if im in the UK they wont :D

There's no-one here half as useful as that! :(

Do you think it will work? The tool costs as much as the pulley did!

Hmm......guess you're right.....might be a good idea to put your general location in your profile.... (along with your boat info.....):D

There's no reason why this wouldn't work. You might have to use washers to get the pulley far enough on the shaft. Just don't "press" it on too far!
