My 65 'rude set of carbs has no low speed needle to replace when rebuilding. There's a bolt in the hole screwed all the way down tight where the needle ought to be. Anybody know what's up with that?

Howdy, HF.

Welcome to iboats. :)

Nope. Maybe if you tell us what year and HP your Evinrude is (is 65 the year or HP??) we may have a clue.

Because it helps cool the engine better that way. :D

My answer is just about as good as the information about your outboard you provided.

To get a good answer you should list the year and HP at a minimum, the model number off the model/serial number tag would be even better.

Sorry about the omissions. The year is 1973 and it's a 65 hp. The model # is
65373R and the serial # is J09142.

Thanks Tashasdaddy, may all your fishin' stories be true. The fixed jet idea is a new one on me. If I may ask one more Q? Is the tool you show for getting the remote jets out effective because it's thicker than most bladed screwdrivers? Could a regular screw driver be ground down or rather up the shaft to a thicker point that would accomplish the same thing? Thanks again and God bless.
