I am trying to hook up my 1997 model Yamaha 115 v4. I have connected red wire from positive battery, to starter solenoid. Black wire from ground on starter, to negative battery.

my 703 control box are hooked to the engine with the 10 plug wire harnes.

Problem: my engine is dead. starter not engaging, trim/tilt not working via control box or by trim/tilt switch on the engine.

I have meassured +12 volts with a multimeter on starter solenoid grounding it to the starter.

I have checked the two fuses next to the solenoids, they are intact.

I have tried running a hot wire directly from the battery to the red wire on the 703. This wakes up my "dead" engine. But arent the 703 supposed to get +12 volts from the engine through the 10-pin connector?

What is the Red wire that runs into the 10 pin connector hooked up to? Is there a fuse in that line?

Problem solved. Had to set up a new connection from positive side of starter solenoid to the fused red main accesories wire.

Thank you Double Weber! Looking forward to see your 225 in action :)
