Just wanted to share some good news. After determining that my CD module was bad, I recently was able to afford to replace it. I took it out to the lake today and after some tinkering with the idle and timing, it ran like a dream. I attempted to hook up my old tachometer but it reads too high now. I was careful not to run at WOT. If anyone knows where I can get a decent tach for cheap I would be very interested. I have a 12 pole stator.

12 pole uses a standard tach. You can buy one almost anywhere like right here at iboats. As far as i know, Teleflex still makes one. International blue series, 0-6000RPM---about 90 bucks. It is powered by 12 volts off the "I" terminal on the ignition switch, and signal is taken from the WHITE wire from the CD box.

For less money, Tiny Tach should also work but it is sent signal differently.

My new CD module does not have the white wire. I tried to hook my old tach to the rectifier but it now reads to high. Do you think that a new tach will fix the problem? Would I connect it to the rectifier?
