I'd swing by a Lowes or HD. I'm sure they carry a liquid you brush on and the stains disappear.

I wouldn't use that pink jelly stuff (forgot the name) cause it removes paint too.

Try scuffing the stains with a Scotchbrite pad and then hitting the areas with cold galvanizing spray.

Re: rust stains on galv trailer ....

i was curious what a re-galv would cost so i contacted a local company that does hot dip galv and this is response i got back ...

Scott,

As long there are no decals, labels, paint etc, just a bare galvanized trailer weight and size will determine the cost. We will have to first strip the old galvanizing, and then re-galvanize the boat frame. The cost for this would be $55.00 cwt with a $500.. Minimum.

Thanks,

Terry Wolfe

im not sure what the $55.00 cwt means but it will be a minimum of $500.00

i have read that the cold govanizing spray bombs look more like silver paint than galv. but i havent seen it myself

Well at least according to some jerk in Willow Street that keeps listing that trailer on CL over and over and over again.....cold galvanizing spray apparently makes your $200 trailer worth $800. So consider it an investment!!!!

Per CWT means $ Per Hundred pounds. or $55.00 per 100lbs of trailer.
