Is sleeping so that your head is lower than your feet bad for you?

I slept in my new boat last night, and i had my feel up in the v-berth, and my head towards the stern. it was maybe 5-10 degrees off level, going down.

I could feel the blood rushing to my head. And i still feel kinda weird in the head.

If you have a reflux (acid) problem it will be bad for you.

Blood, like water tends to run downhill. Sleeping with your head down will tend to cause the blood to pool there and could easily cause a headache, facial swelling or swelling in the airways making it difficult to breathe. It is not uncommon for people having long surgeries in head down positions to have so much swelling that they can not be safely awakened at the end of the case. They often need to spend the night in an ICU with their heads elevated so that the swelling can resolve.

Kinda makes you wonder how the astronauts do it.
