ok so now im in the market for a halfway decent fishfinder in the $300 range or less. color would be nice but if theirs a more efficient grey tone that would work also... just wanted to get yalls opinions and or expieriences with different ones. of course gps or charting options would be nice. ive done plenty of online "looking" but numbers and one or two pics doesnt quite do it, any insight would be appreciated... thanks guys...

This is the one I bought for my last boat. I searched for the cheapest color GPS/Fishfinder combo I could find. 3ryrs later when I sold the boat it was still going strong. Color screen below $300 will be tough let alone with GPS but the one below is close.

ignore the price, I think you can get it as low as $344 with a little searching. Another good place to look is craigslist. You can find a lot of slightly used or unopened fishfinders/chartplotters/GPS/etc there way below retail.

I did a quick search of CL in my area and found a fishfinder that retails for $1000 for under $350 and a charplotter that retails for over $3500 for under $1700.

I'm in the market right now too....from what I've seen of actual units in the store turned on it seemed to me the cheaper color units were much more pixelated than the higher end gray scale units....I seem to be narrowing it down to a good grayscale unit because at least to me the color is not worth sacrificing the resolution.

I'll second that... I installed one of these 2 years ago. Great FF and the resolution is great. And the GPS is a nice inclusion.
