Hello all,
I am a fairly savy boat mechanic, but just came across an issue I have never delt with before. My brother just purchased a 1996 sea ray 300 dancer with twin 5.7 V drives. He got a pretty good deal, only $19000, but both engine blocks were cracked. So we decided to build two 383's with roller cams. Just got done with them and started transfering all the accessories, port side engine went flawless, all ready to put in, but as we started tearing down the starboard engine, we noticed when we removed the timing chain cover that there were a set of gears on the cam and crank which means this one is reverse rotation. The problem is finding a roller cam for this configuration. I am wondering if it is possible to change the rotation of the V drive. The drives are Borg Warner velvet V drives
Thanks
John
