Now, now...that's not a '74 Buick boat...get your terminology right, that's a "land yacht" and they were/are great multi-purpose vehicles. I loves the trucks, but cars are good pullers, too...been trying to figure out how to put a hitch on the wife's '06 Montego so I can test it for towing...if it works, I might try to swap her my '93 Dakota 4X4...that'll be the day.

My uncle actually pulled his 20 ft Larson with a Buick for YEARS. Then he bought a Chevy truck and now it pretty much breaks down every time they do their annual trip to NH.

My tow rigs:

and my currently downtrodden, lacking a working transmission truck:

Working to get the parts for a 5 speed swap right now...

You obviously haven't looked at trucks lately. My truck has leather heated seats, Bose stereo system with CD, DVD. Driver and passenger climate control, Power seats, driving computer. It drives very well rides pretty well and handles rough roads better than the Acura Integra I used to have. It will also tow a 12,000 pound trailer. Hardly clunky.

Both my sons are truck guys. Silverado and Ram, both only a couple years old. So, yes, I do get to drive them from time to time.

All in the eyes of the beholder! A Caddy is class, a Stingray is a bit bumpy, but those trucks are all just klunky.

Trucks are for men who don't mind getting their hands dirty, or wrenching on their own stuff ;)

plus the fact you will not get crushed like a tin can in an accident, my wife drives a smaller car ( dodge caliber ) and it feels like a death trap to me, if I could afford a H1 and the fuel I would

Has nothing to do with towing, but I don't understand this argument. Safety has come a long way and come to find out bulk and rigidity were actually causing a lot of deaths.

I don't care what they say, or ratings. I ran a bodyshop for years and pickups and large SUVS always fared better and had less injuries than smaller cars.
