Who put the oil in it? Did you? If not, get it out and add the proper amount and the correct weight oil for marine engine use.
Don't run it until you do that, and change the filter. Then check the pressure and if there is an issue, you eliminated the first thing you should have anyway.
Why do this step first? You bought a used engine as part of this deal. All the fluids, including the drive fluids, should be drained and replaced with the recommended fluids. Then you are at the next step, which is thorough RE-inspection of everything before you fire it up.
Also, how old is the engine? The fuel? How many hours? Could it be a tired/worn engine that he dropped some super heavy oil into for a test drive to cover some issues? We need more info.
Regardless... I stand by my recommendation. Run it on your own essential fluids, not the ones the previous guy left in 'er.
