-removed the engine
-removed the transom + splash well
-removed the steering system.

-replaced the old rotted transom with a custom solid oak version
-repainted the inside and out

Next steps

-install new teleflex nfb steering system

-install new plywood floor +carpet
-install new bimini top (6' x 42" )
-install engine.

I'll try to add some photos soon.

did you make the transom with oak ply or dimensional wood??

for the plywood for the deck (its deck, not floor btw ;) ) make sure to use epoxy resin. poly has no strength on its own and will crack (as i am learning now from my own boat)

Nice old Lund:)

They are great hulls, almost as sweet as an old Starcraft:p

Sounds like you have made lots of progress. x2 on using epoxy to seal any wood that goes in the rig. It will keep it rot free for a long time.

Good luck, and we look forward to seeing some more pics!

For the transom, I used a solid white oak board; 1 3/4 x 15 x 60. I have access to a 20" grizzly planer and a 24" grizzly sander. It weighs 30 lbs. Its pretty tough. Burned up my scroll saw cutting it to fit.

Looks good, nice job.:) I'd love to find an old Lund like that for a project someday.

Do you have any photos of the interior?
