does anyone have a diagram pic for a 1990 70 hp evinrude?just tryin to see what the thermastat looks like,i took mine apart an it was plastic.

I don't have a diagram but I have that same motor disassembled in boxes in my shop. What do you need to know?

These are OEM Service Bulletins, you might want to look at.

SB2221 temp sensor, pigtail tan/blue stripe
SB2225 thermostat seat
SB2271 jet kit/ timing change
SB2276R1 relocation of tattle tale nipple
432955 waterpump kit has different inpeller, thermostat housing cover, spring, and inclueds SB2276R1

I concur with Clanton. I had an overheat problem that set off the alarm and put the motor in S.L.O.W. mode yet I wasn't overheating. I did all the bulletins that Clanton posted and haven't had a problem in a year! Don't assume because you didn't have an overheat alarm go off that it's not overheating or that your not going into S.L.O.W. mode, your alarm may not be working. Do the bulletins.

how do i change the Evinrude-Vernatherms 1990 70 hp i looked at it im thinkin take the plastic nut off then pull it out with visegrips ?
