compression evinrude 25hp 1975

i havent tried the decarb yet but i just want to know that because my motor is reading at 100psi for one and 70psi for the other should i be worried about the life of the motor and if i do a decarb will it pull the compression back up to a resonable psi

If rings are carboned up..de-carb will fix that.
Not wishing you any bad luck but I am not optimistic.
But nothing ventured...
If compression still low after de-carb take off head, you will see whats wrong... blown gasket or worse.

I just ran into the same thing on my 1988 25 evinrude. 100 on the bottom and 65 on the top. Pulled the head then ended up pulling the motor to find a stuck ring on the top piston. Ordered an engine kit and I'm currently rebuilding.
