Am I the only one?

I love how my status changes as my post count goes up. Am I the only one who gets excited about this? I see those with 10k, 20k, 30k posts and some insane ranking & I'm thoroughly impressed

Maybe it's just me & it's definitely silly, but I look forward to being Admiral someday anyhow!

i think most of us, get a little charge out of it. but now my rank and several others, are permanent.

Actually, I've been around a long, long time and never felt the need or desire to up my post count. I was known under two other alias' before LadyFish.

Its not about quantity, its about the quality of someone's posts. If it was up to me I would do away with post counts entirely. They mean absolutely nothing and it encourages post padding.

In the end...who cares.

I knew this would come & ultimately I agree. I'm sure I could have a lot more posts if I wanted, but I do the same kind of self-evaluation with my posts that you describe. I just find it fun to go up in rank as a bonus. Maybe I hope those with high post counts got that way because they know there stuff & have a lot of experience to share. When I see my post count rise, I like to think that's why for me too.

The number of post I have here and "several" other places is so high I hope the wife never finds out. I know I have at least 10k. However I do want to be in charge of the whole fleet some day...

Ha, I've been on for almost a year now, never really feel the need to comment, and I don't have the answers to engine questions (usually) or if I do, someones already beaten me to them... Only 15 posts...and I view almost every day
