Re: Ignition Switch Question

There are two main types of ignition switches. One is for battery-powered ignition systems, and the second is for magneto-powered systems. "MagCD" falls under the magneto powered catagory.

Using the wrong type may just plain not work, or it may cause serious damage to the igniton system.

i originally bought a standard car switch and it tried to start the motor when i hooked it up ,so i went with a marine one and no problems, so you got something there FR!

Re: Ignition Switch Question

CBG, the switch in the picture will work fine with your Gale 40 (Magneto ignition).

Re: Ignition Switch Question

The only differance I see is the "1 or I" on it, would that be the acc. terminal that is usually an "A"?

Re: Ignition Switch Question

Yes. On some, the "A" terminal is not active while cranking the motor. No biggie deal with your Gale.
