you are concerned in some posts that you have no spark, but ,then mention it runs ok at times for 20 or so minutes.you then dont have a pack problem,i would say ,if it is spark related that you must have some kind of loose wire ,or some kind of bug causing you to lose the spark, however, not questioning your tech skills, but, spark coming and going is a reach,it can happen but, usually intermittent is as i already suggested,my thought is,you changed all fuel components but the fuel pump, often fuelpump failures can cause the pulse port to get flooded with fuel, thus ,flooding the engine, given the yr of the engine, the problems with ethonol based fuel to outboards of vintage, you just migt have a pump problem, also, its common that the flooding will add unburned fuel to your exhust causing a real globby messy exhust

The fuel pump looks fine, i changed out the fuel pump from another motor that is running fine of the same size and no change. We do continue to have intermittent spark which i believe now has been the problem all along. As before it fired right up i killed it took out the plugs and checked the spark. Bright blue strong arcs on all four, reinstalled plugs and it ran for a good five mins this time. Quit running on its own rechecked spark, and nothing.
