I don't do snakes at all. I'd rather come across a rabid Lion than a snake. Lucky for me I live in Michigan, and most of what we have are Garter (sp?) snakes...

No Lions either.

Slightly off topic - I do not like snakes at all and most people I know don't care for them. I wondered why that is and found an article (wish I still had it) that said it?s not about like or dislike but that all primates fear/hate snakes and it?s a defense mechanism ingrained into our DNA over 100s of thousands of years. Guess I am still an animal when it comes to snakes.

there is SOME rational to it... At least if you are in an area that has deadly snakes, i'm not taking the time to figure out if this one means business or not. They all fall into that category by default.

I do like snakes and would rather have a snake than a mouse any day ... I would rather have a snake than a cat any day also. We have a LOT of black snakes around us, a few hognose,garter, some cooperheads and rattlers, and water snakes, etc. I hate the water snakes because they eat my fish and are too dang agressive for me ... get tired of them trying to crawl up my waders or into my boat.

Anyway, relocate the snake, don't kill it. They eat a lot of insects also. Think of the positives ...

I hardly ever see anything like that at home, thank goodness, saw something that looked like the snake in the original post once, and turned and sprinted the other way. Not much scares me, but these things do.

I for one like snakes, my wife, she's terrified of them. I was bitten by a copperhead when I was a kid, felt like crap and went to the hospital. They didn't even give me anti-venom, they said their venom is very mild.

Of course, that was off topic as that's not a copperhead.
