The fibre washers on the drain/fill plugs for the outdrive.. are these reuseable? It doesnt say anything about replacing them in the manual but I do with every drive oil change. I plan on replacing them every time anyway but I am curious.... plus it will settle a lil debate we have going on here, lol.

You always change the gaskets. Should say that in the manual. I know it does in the Volvo manuals.

You have to understand, the OEM service manuals are meant for Mercruiser Techs that have gone to schools where the basics are taught, not the DIYer.
From tech school, you understand that gaskets are a one time use item, therefore it's not necessary to say replace every gasket with new. It's kind of like the manual doesn't tell you to turn the screw counter clock wise to remove. It's just understood. They do tell you if it's left handed thread when necessary, because it's not normal.

Thanks for confirming guys. I kinda figured replacement was a given. Just needed some verification from expierenced people like yourselves to prove my point to a stubborn aquaintance, (and steer him in the right direction) lol.
