Evinrude fastwin what year?

I have an evinrude fastwin ser. # 184020-E06976. What year? 15 or 18 horse?

well, I am coming up with a 18402 model in the 1964 model. Are you sure about the model number you have here? Some pics would help too.

i am not exactly positive, but i think the model number started with 15XXX up until 1963

They were 15XXX until 1962. In 1963, they started with 18XXX, so you were very close. The 1963 Fastwin was 18302 and 18303 and the 1964 Fastwin was 18402 and 18403, so that's why I'm thinking 1964 on this motor posted here. In 1973, the Fastwins were 18304A and 18305A.

The Fastwin was finished in 1973 and 1974, the newly designed 15hp came out.

oh sorry that's what i meant I was thinking 1962 was the last year but i guess my wording was bad
