Looking to upgrade the outdated sound system on my rig. I want to be able to get XM without a whole slew of additional equipment. I see head units advertised as 'XM' ready only to find out you need to buy $100 of additional equipment.

Is there such a beast as an XM ready unit?

There is, but it will cost you many hundreds of dollars. Not sure how much additional equipment is too much for you, but I have a little XM Express receiver that I just plug into the aux input on my head unit. Works great and is fairly unobtrusive.

XM, you gotta pay to play and that means a seprate tuner module (can be tucked away and hidden) and antenna.
