It is new. I have already replaced water pump and thermostats. Senders could be bad but that means digging into engine. While I'm in there what else should I change out ? Deflectors ? Head gaskets ? Any other gaskets or parts I HAVE TO replace? Any easier way to test these switches than by dipping in hot oil ?

Is it a steady beep?

Not there right now but the way I remember it was on and off (like a warning sound) and comes on about 2 minutes after motor idles.

The overheat alarm is constant.

On your motor, any other signal is from the fuel pump or oil tank except that you may have a test beep when you first turn on the ignition switch.

If you are pre-mixing the fuel and oil, be sure that you have both sets of VRO wires disconnected.

Yeah, it sounds almost like a telephone ringing. I am premixing but have not de-VRO'd it by the book yet. I guess I'm at that step now.

There are two oil warning horns on that engine. A "no oil" horn is 1/2 second on, 1/2 second off. If the oil tank is low, a horn sounds for 1/2 second every 20 seconds.

Sounds like a telephone ring pattern.

Sounds like it is a combination fuel/oil pump warning. Potentially a serious problem. If you want to keep running the engine, I'd immediately be adding oil to the main fuel tank. Then get the pump checked out.

I did not have the wires hooked up FROM oil tank (they were cut). Once I connected, the horn stayed on continuously (tank had about 2" of oil, ball hard but may be defective), no beeps. I AM PREMIXING .

I disconnected those 2 oil tank wires and started engine. It ran a little longer than usual before the telephone pattern horn sounded. It seems to smoke alot initially from prop.

I am also getting a emulsified drip from prop that looks MILKY and smells of GASOLINE. It is a grayish white color and comes out of and around PROP.

Pretty sure I am overheating. My hand held digital temp reads over 160 on both cylinder heads.

If you look, you will find a three wire group running from the fuel PUMP to the main harness. There is an amphenol plug at the end of the wires, probably tucked behind the relay box. Unplug it if you run pre-mix. The rapid alarm that you are hearing will disappear as it should.

It's possible that the fuel pump may have been upgraded in which case there will be four wires.

See #3 on the diagram.

OK will disconnect plug and block vacuamm port @ engine.

What vacuum port? If you block the pulse the fuel pump won't/can't work.

Maybe you don't understand that the VRO pump is purely mechanical; The wiring is just for the alarm system - it does nothing else.

It is always possible that you have a defective horn. I wouldn't worry about the milky exhaust, as unburned fuel from the powerhead will normally mix with the used coolant water in the exhaust tube. I would worry if you saw a milky appearance on any of the spark plugs.

I'm blocking where VRO oil tank hose plugs in, near fuel connection. I thought that was part of disabling VRO and to prevent air into system. Some people cut hose, stick a bolt in there and put a clamp on it ( which I may do) but right now I used a vacuamm terminal which I'm not so happy with. Did I misconstrue what I read ?

I ran it for a few minutes and no horn. Will try for a longer time tomorrow when I have more time.
