Sterndrive I.D.?

Name plates on side of drive unit are gone. How can I I.D. my drive unit else wise. i just bought this boat at an auction for $125. It's a 1970 STARCRAFT(v18010) w/ mercruiser S/N 2817884. I beleive the engine is a "140" but not sure. I need to id the drive unit so I will know which one to look at in the manual. I'm having a problem with the trim/tilt. It will power "in" but not "out"; motor turns just no pressure. Any help will be apperictiated greatly.

lone, be it a 120 or a 140 the drives in the manual will be the same .

Ayuh,... It's an MC-1 drive...
