7.4 volvo won't start

boat ran great yesterday, camped out and when I woke up this morning it won't start. I have plenty of battery power and it would turn over but it wouldn't fire. Got towed in, tried to start it on the hose with starting fluid and still wouldn't fire. I have noticed lately that when I turn the key the fuel pump hasn't been priming. I'm thinking it's electrical since it wouldn't fire on starting fluid... Where do I begin to trouble shoot? Any ideas?

Get that stuff off your boat before you destroy your engine.

Your fuel pumps (2 of them) should run for 2 seconds when you turn the key from off to run, do they?

Have you checked to see if you have spark ????

neither fuel pumps turn on when I turn the key... I haven't checked for spark yet but that's probably the next step. Is there a breaker or a fuse that could have popped?

Ok, no more starting fluid...

To start with, go to the link below, and you can download the manuals for your engine and outdrive. You have a WT model.

Get the EFI Diagnostics manual and go to Section 7, it explains how the system works and how to repair things. There is a troubleshooting section for the pumps on page 7-30, also look at the wiring diagrams in section 11.

update:
Got in the boat today to do a little trouble shooting, hit the key and nothing... It won't turn over. I know the batteries are charged and all the accesories work. It does make a click sound but that's about it... I'm gonna keep digging through these manuals but if anybody has any ideas I'm all ears.
